New England barge service update

May 05, 2020

Beginning May 10, 2020, GCT Bayonne in cooperation with Columbia Coastal will provide access to the New England market via a new barge connection. The barge will provide direct water access between GCT Bayonne and Conley Terminal.

Columbia Coastal will operate a 912 TEU barge that will plan to load imports on Sundays at GCT Bayonne, and arrive in Boston for a start time of 0800 on Tuesdays. The barge will then transport exports and empties back to GCT Bayonne for vessels loading over the weekend. Total transit time from Pusan is estimated to be 27 days, which is equal to the current all-water product on the EC2.
