Hapag-Lloyd: Mainland China and China/Hong Kong booking cancellation fee update

The charge basis of Hapag-Lloyd's booking cancellation fee for export booking from China and China/Hong Kong will be adjusted with effect from December 15, 2020. The details of the new charge basis are below.

Booking cancellation fee will be applicable to every container cancelled within a confirmed shipment.

  • Manual Processing of Booking Cancellation (MPO): CNY300 per Container applicable to China export shipment.
  • Booking Cancellation Fee (BCF): HKD300 per Container applicable to Hong Kong export shipment.

For Intra Asia Trade, booking cancellation fee is applicable to booking cancelled within 5 calendar days prior to ETD of the first intended vessel.

For other trades, booking cancellation fee is applicable to booking cancelled within 7 calendar days prior to ETD of the first intended vessel.

Unused booking without cancellation notice before vessel departure will be subject to booking cancellation fee.

The new charge basis will become effective for the cancellation request submitted from December 15, 2020 and for the no-show booking on the vessels departing from December 15, 2020.
