Mar 11, 2024

The latest monthly review of the global container market by the Baltic Exchange - published in collaboration with Freightos, Vespucci Maritime, and Freight Investor Services - is now available to read and download.

This month Lars Jensen, CEO at Vespucci Maritime, looks at the impact of Chinese New Year and rerouting around the Cape of Good Hope on spot rates. In addition, Kieran Walsh, Commodity Broker at Freight Investor Services, notes how the ongoing issues in the Red Sea is impacting freight rates, with levels much higher than in December 2023.

Meanwhile, Judah Levine, Research Lead at Freightos, looks at how rates may have passed their peak following Chinese New Year and are now likely to ease further as ocean freight enters its slow season.

All content and data available in these reports are free to use but must be referenced back to the Baltic Exchange.
