FourKites data: Over the road shipments in continue to trend down

FourKites found that on over-the-road (OTR) shipment volume in the U.S.:

  • FourKites continues to see lower over-the-road shipment volumes in the U.S. in 2022 compared to 2021. Compared to the Q4 2021 average, the seven-day average shipment volume tracked by FourKites is now up 1.0%. During this same time last year, the seven-day average shipment volume was up 4.3% compared to Q4 2020. This equates to a 3.3% decrease in over-the-road shipment volume tracked by FourKites.
  • While 2022 volumes remain lower than 2021, this gap has improved slightly over the last couple of weeks. As of April 24th, there was a 6.2% total downturn in over-the-road shipment volume seen by FourKites in the U.S.
