East Coast Warehouse & Distribution names James Wingfield, vice president of risk management, safety & legal

East Coast Warehouse & Distribution, a leading temperature-controlled logistics provider to the food and beverage industry, announced today it has named James Wingfield Vice President of Risk Management, Safety and Legal, reporting to CEO Jamie Overley.

James joins the company with more than 30 years of executive leadership experience in the transportation and logistics industry. His experience includes overseeing liability cargo and worker’s compensation self-funded programs and developing driver training programs.

“We’re pleased to welcome James to the East Coast Warehouse executive team,” said Overley. “As we continue our aggressive growth and expansion plans, he will play a vital role for our organization and we’re confident he will be a great asset to our team.”

During his career, he has served in a variety of positions in the transportation industry. Prior to joining East Coast Warehouse, James served as an industry consultant, while also working as a claims specialist for Uber Freight Systems/Transplace. Before that, he served as VP and Team Leader of Bayport Operations and Safety for Nova Molecular Technologies.

“I’m very excited to be working with the East Coast Warehouse management team under the leadership of Jamie Overley,” said Wingfield. “ECW is an energetic, vibrant and growing company, and this is an incredible opportunity for me to return to the asset-based side of transportation and warehousing.”

James is a past chairman and longstanding board member of the Missouri Trucking Association, and a past member of the National Defense Transportation Association. Additionally, he served on the initial sector coordinating council for the Department of Homeland Security’s transportation sector. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri School of Law.
