DHL Supply Chain appoints Rainer Haag as new CEO for Europe

Aug 19, 2025

DHL Supply Chain has appointed Rainer Haag as CEO DHL Supply Chain Europe. In his new role, Haag will oversee 16 Central European markets, which have shown strong and consistent growth in recent years. He will report directly to Hendrik Venter, who previously led DHL Supply Chain Europe, Middle East & Africa and has been appointed CEO DHL Supply Chain and member of the Management Board of DHL Group.

“I am excited to take on this new responsibility and to continue building on the strong foundation we have established together with our customers in the region. Businesses are the backbone of building more resilient economies across Europe, and a key element of their strength lies in robust supply chain networks, which today are more than just logistics frameworks – they are essential components of business strategy across multiple sectors,” said Haag.

Hendrik Venter added: “Rainer brings a deep understanding of our European customers, markets, and operations. His track record in driving growth, operational excellence and building high performance teams makes him the ideal leader and addition to our supply chain board.”

Rainer Haag joined DHL Group in 2010 as Director Operations in Spain and has since built a distinguished leadership track record across multiple markets and sectors. His roles have included Managing Director Life Sciences & Healthcare Germany, Managing Director DHL Supply Chain Germany & Alps, and most recently CEO for Germany & Alps, where he drove significant growth and operational excellence. In Florstadt near Frankfurt am Main, Germany, he oversaw the development of the DHL life sciences & healthcare hub to become a backbone of DHL's global Health Logistics network.

As part of these changes, Haag’s previous role as CEO DHL Supply Chain Germany & Alps will be assumed by Katrin Hölter, who has served as Chief Operations Officer DHL Supply Chain EMEA since 2022. In that position, she was responsible for driving operational efficiency and ensuring seamless service for customers across the region. Katrin has been with DHL Group since 2003 and through her extensive operational expertise she has set high standards that manifests the Groups Safety First culture. Hölter's expertise will enable customers to benefit from innovative, efficient, and future-ready supply chain solutions.
