DCLI enhances Direct ChassisLink domestic pool (DCL53) with GPS rollout

Direct ChassisLink, Inc. (“DCLI”) is announcing a major initiative to further enhance the quality, reliability, visibility and operational efficiency of its 53’ domestic chassis fleet. As part of our unwavering commitment to providing superior service and fleet excellence, we are making a significant investment to upfit and monitor all 152,000+ of our DCL53 chassis with GPS technology. The rollout will begin immediately and is expected to be completed by late 2026.

Data Visibility for Enhanced Efficiency

The integration of GPS units into DCL53 marks a transformative step forward in how we monitor and manage our equipment. This technology allows us to provide unprecedented operational visibility and data-driven benefits enabling customers to optimize asset utilization and streamline operations. Key advantages include:

• Asset Tracking: GPS technology provides precise location data—improving chassis availability across critical markets, allowing customers to shorten cycle times and provide shipment visibility.

• Advanced Inventory Insights: Customers benefit from accurate inventory visibility, including chassis status—whether stacked, unstacked, racked, mounted, or bare—helping to meet evolving demand efficiently.

• Location-Based Alerts: The ability to geofence locations provides the potential to create customer alerts upon entry and exit.

• Optimized Driver and Terminal Efficiency: GPS-driven insights help measure driver time at terminals, roadability, and flip lines—supporting improved fleet management and operational flow.

• Billing and Reconciliation Accuracy: Integrated sensors determine if a chassis is mounted with a container, streamlining billing processes and reducing inventory reconciliation time.

• Fleet Optimization: Real-time monitoring ensures chassis are effectively located and repositioned, reducing delays and enhancing logistics planning for improved customer satisfaction.

Proactive Maintenance and Safety Management

The GPS rollout reinforces DCLI's commitment to fleet safety and reliability by improving maintenance visibility and response times:

• Inspection Preparedness: GPS technology helps locate chassis needing FMCSA inspections, ensuring critical safety checks and repairs occur before mounting a container, minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance.

• Optimized Maintenance: Accurate mileage tracking enables proactive scheduling of maintenance, optimizing chassis performance and preventing unexpected breakdowns. Detection of hard braking or rough handling events will signal the need for further inspections.

• Enhanced Responsiveness: With exact location data, response times for road service are reduced, minimizing delays caused by unknown or inaccurate equipment locations.

• Recall Management: Enhanced visibility improves responsiveness should equipment ever need to be recalled, creating a safer operational environment for all stakeholders.
