New standardized system freight service, DB SCHENKERsystem home, reaches private households across Europe in response to growing demand for B2C delivery and the ongoing e-commerce trend
In response to increased demand for B2C deliveries, DB Schenker, one of the world's leading global logistics providers, is expanding its groupage system freight network to include standardized B2C shipping across Europe. The new service – DB SCHENKERsystem home – is designed for companies that deliver their shipments to private recipients, especially shipments of home appliances, technical products, and interior design products.

“By expanding delivery from 22 million companies to 195 million private households, we are now taking the next step in leveraging the full potential of our European groupage network,” says Helmut Schweighofer, CEO of DB Schenker in Europe. “The introduction of our new home delivery service can be viewed in the wider context of our strong growth in Europe, which is being accompanied by frequent openings of new, super-sustainable terminals across the continent, thereby further increasing the strength of our European network.”
Cyrille Bonjean, Executive Vice-President and Head of Land Transport Europe, adds the following: “Now even more companies can go global from day one and reach markets all over Europe with our B2C curbside delivery. This service will open up new and exciting business opportunities for many of our customers. As of today, none of our competitors can offer the type of pan-European coverage for delivery to private households that we do.”
With the introduction of DB SCHENKERsystem home, DB Schenker is responding to the increasing demand for B2C delivery and the ongoing megatrend of e-commerce, as well as cross-border B2C trade in Europe. The B2C delivery segment is expected to grow at an above-average rate over the next few years.
