Containerization & Intermodal Institute elects Moseley of Port Houston to Board of Directors

John Moseley, Chief Commercial Officer of Port Houston, one of the top five container ports in the United States, has been elected to the board of directors of the Containerization & Intermodal Institute (CII).

Since being appointed to his current role in 2018, Moseley drives and executes the port’s commercial strategy. He oversees the port’s real estate, trade development, economic development, marketing and branding, research and forecasting departments as well as administration of Harris County FTZ 84. Prior to being named CCO, Mr. Moseley served as Port Houston’s Senior Director of Trade Development, where he managed global sales and business development. He was instrumental in executing the port’s market growth strategy, training and managing of the Port’s trade development team in the U.S. and overseas.

“John Moseley brings to the board extensive knowledge and experience in sales and business development. He played a key role in elevating Port Houston to one of the top five U.S. container ports in the U.S. As our newest board member, he will add a fresh perspective and new insight to help CII promote its mission in support of international trade,” said CII President Steven Blust.

Moseley has over 36 years of supply chain and logistics experience and has held various managerial roles throughout the world with BCOs and ocean carriers, including seven years with CMA CGM immediately before joining the port. During his tenure at CMA CGM, he transformed the U.S. Gulf Coast region from the lowest performing region into a robust sales organization, doubling regional revenue to over $200 million per year.
