CMA CGM on Mayotte - Cyclone Chido

Dec 31, 2024

On Saturday December 14, the island of Mayotte was hit by a devastating force 4/5 cyclone, which also brought heavy storms, rain and flooding, with catastrophic consequences for communities and infrastructures.

To date, communication, energy and traffic systems remain fragile, despite the actions taken by the French government. The French authorities are ensuring that the logistical infrastructures under their control are gradually becoming operational again, and are able to requisition any equipment or goods needed to accomplish their mission.

The CMA CGM group, for its part, has been requisitioned to transport products and materials essential to the needs of the population. Several ships have already been deployed for this purpose.

CMA CGM will inform of the status of goods as soon as the situation permits.
