CMA CGM Low Water Surcharge in Manaus, Brazil, 09/15/25

Sep 04, 2025

Further to the latest monitoring results for the Amazonia River levels, available data show that the water levels are decreasing at a slower rate than initially estimated. As a consequence, CMA CGM is postponing the Low Water Surcharge (LWS) implementation in both directions, from and to Manaus, as follows:

Effective September 15th, 2025

Port: Manaus, Brazil

Perimeter: Import/Export

Cargo: all

Amount: USD 950 per TEU

Settlement: as per freight

This surcharge is necessary to address the additional operational costs arising from draft restrictions and reduced vessel capacity caused by the low water levels.

Please rest assured that CMA CGM are closely monitoring the situation and will keep you informed of any changes. The surcharge will be reviewed and adjusted as river conditions evolve.
