CMA CGM Announcement: Panama Canal Transit Surcharge - Latin America Services

To finance large infrastructure investments and improve transit certainty and flexibility, Panama Canal Authority has implemented from January 2025 a new prepaid slot allocation (LoTSA) for Neopanamax vessels and also increased their booking fee.

To recover this extra cost and keep providing you with our most reliable services transiting through Panama Canal, CMA CGM will implement a Panama Canal Transit surcharge from January 1st, 2025, on the following trades in/out South America West Coast:

Effective January 1st, 2025

- From: Caribbean, South America East Coast, North Europe, Mediterranean, Africa, Indian Ocean, Middle East, Red Sea & Indian Subcontinent

- Via: Panama Canal

- To: South America West Coast

- Cargo: all

- Amount: USD 150 per TEU

- From: South America West Coast

- Via: Panama Canal

- To: Caribbean, South America East Coast, North Europe, Mediterranean, Africa, Indian Ocean, Middle East, Red Sea & Indian Subcontinent

- Cargo: all

- Amount: USD 150 per TEU

- From: Far East

- Via: Panama Canal

- To: Caribbean

- Cargo: all

- Amount: USD 150 per TEU
