City and Port of Oakland, sign trade agreement with Haiphong, Vietnam

Oakland, Calif. – Join the City of Oakland, Port of Oakland and representatives from Haiphong, Vietnam in the announcement of a major trade agreement.

One correction - The nation of Vietnam is Port of Oakland's second largest import trading partner (Please use this media advisory instead of the earlier one).

Over the past year, the bi-lateral trade commercial value between the Ports of Oakland and Haiphong amounted to U.S. $401 million (November 2022 through October 2023).

The City and the Port led a delegation in August to Vietnam, meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the mayors of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, and representatives of Long An International Port.
