Apr 15, 2025

CHAMP Cargosystems, winners of the prestigious Jettainer ULD Challenge at the recent IATA ONE Record Hackathon, has announced its decision to donate the USD 3,000 prize to the Emirates Airline Foundation, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and supporting vulnerable children.

Lucas Fernandez, team captain of CHAMP’s victorious "United Lethal Developers" (ULDs), presented a generous contribution to the Emirates Airline Foundation during the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Dubai.

The CHAMP team's winning innovation, the LUNA app, captivated judges with its groundbreaking AI-powered solution for ULD damage assessment. LUNA significantly enhances accuracy and efficiency, while its integrated decentralized identity system ensures secure, seamless ONE Record authentication without the need for shared credentials. This sophisticated technology underscores CHAMP’s dedication to pioneering advancements in the air cargo industry.

Beyond technological excellence, CHAMP's team demonstrated a profound sense of purpose by choosing to redirect their prize winnings to the Emirates Airline Foundation. This non-profit organization is dedicated to transforming the lives of children facing extreme hardship by providing access to vital resources such as food, healthcare, housing, and education.

By donating their prize, CHAMP aims to support the Foundation’s mission in improving the lives of disadvantaged children. This contribution reflects CHAMP’s desire to use its success to support the leaders of change within the community.

Lucas Fernandez, VP of Innovation and Insight from CHAMP, said, “I am incredibly proud of our team's decision to contribute to the Emirates Airline Foundation. We are happy to be a part of their important work, which makes a positive difference in the lives of children. The Emirates Airline Foundation is an esteemed charity, and we are honored to support their initiatives.”
