Cambridge Mobile Telematics joins the Geotab Marketplace

one hour ago

Cambridge Mobile Telematics announced that CMT’s DriveWell Fleet platform is now available in the Geotab Marketplace, enabling fleets with Geotab devices to seamlessly access CMT’s insurance telematics solutions.

By joining the Geotab Marketplace, CMT makes it easy for fleets to activate DriveWell Fleet using their existing Geotab devices. Geotab customers can now access telematics-based insurance programs that reward safe driving, helping them lower insurance costs, improve safety performance, and increase the return on their existing telematics investments — without changing how they operate. At the same time, insurers gain access to driving data from Geotab-connected vehicles, enabling a better understanding of fleet risk and more accurate, behavior-based pricing.

DriveWell Fleet transforms telematics service provider (TSP) data into normalized, high-frequency insights, enabling more accurate risk selection, segmentation, and pricing. With access to Geotab’s global installed base, insurers can scale telematics-based pricing across a much larger share of their commercial book.

The solution addresses a major gap in commercial auto insurance: fewer than 5% of policies are priced with telematics data, even though over 30% of vehicles are already connected to a TSP. By enabling fleets with Geotab devices to utilize CMT’s platform, and offering proprietary hardware for unconnected vehicles, CMT helps insurers increase the number of policies priced on driving behavior and move toward full telematics coverage.

“For more than a decade, CMT has helped insurers use telematics to better understand risk, reduce crashes, and save lives. With DriveWell Fleet, we’re bringing that same approach to commercial auto insurance around the world,” said Ben Bowne, CMT’s SVP of Business Development & Partnerships. “By joining the Geotab Marketplace, we’re making it simple for fleets to connect to our platform and for insurers to access high-quality driving data at scale. This expands our global reach and helps insurers deliver better pricing and outcomes for fleets and their drivers.”

“Geotab is focused on helping fleets operate safer and more efficient businesses through connected vehicle data,” said Robin Kinsey, Associate Vice President, Marketplace. “By making CMT’s solutions available through the Geotab Marketplace, fleets can now extend the value of their data into insurance programs — improving safety, reducing costs, and benefiting from more accurate, data-driven pricing.”
