The full-service logistics provider Duvenbeck has strengthened its management team: Hakan Bicil (51) has come on board as co-CEO of the automotive logistics specialist effective September 1, 2022. As co-CEO, the logistics manager joins CEO Christian Schweckhorst in overseeing the company’s strategic development along with mergers and acquisitions. Duvenbeck is planning to expand its international footprint, widen its areas of expertise, including through acquisitions, and tap into new customer segments. This comes after Waterland Private Equity became Duvenbeck’s majority shareholder at the start of 2022.

“Hakan Bicil is a logistics expert who is the ideal person to deliver on our growth and acquisition plans thanks to his wide-ranging expertise and far-reaching experience from previous management roles in the forwarding and logistics sector,” commented Christian Schweckhorst. Bicil will be assisted by an advisory board headed by co-owner Thomas Duvenbeck. Strategic consultant Cornelius Geber is also represented on the advisory board, having played a key role on behalf of Duvenbeck in the process of Waterland becoming a shareholder.
Before joining Duvenbeck, Bicil held management roles at companies including Imperial, Ceva Logistics, Panalpina, Toll Group, and Kühne + Nagel.
