Project cargo service goes beyond transportation

For some logistics providers, Project Cargo management does not end when the raw materials have been delivered. Combilift, one of the largest global manufacturers of multidirectional, sideloading, and articulated devices, recently helped manage the opening of a new manufacturing plant for a company that produces industrial-size and grade air conditioners,

“Fully constructed the AC units weigh up to 30,000 pounds and are 30 feet long. The raw components that are used to create the air conditioners are also oversized, long, and overweight products, averaging between 3000-6000 lbs and up to 30’ long,” said Paul Short, President of North America for Combilift.

Combilift partners with a variety of transportation providers to ensure all elements are delivered. Once the raw materials have been received, the air conditioning manufacturer often needs to store them before processing and assembly in their production. This requires specialized equipment to lift the whole unit such as those offered by CombiLift.

“By providing RAM material storage, Combilift provides the manufacturer with increased production area and flexibility to adjust production schedules. Storage of the finished product is also handled by a Combi SC for yard storage and trailer loading,” said Short.
