AirBridgeCargo receives its 12th traditional Bembel from Frankfurt Cargo Services

Feb 21, 2022

AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), the scheduled air cargo carrier within Volga-Dnepr Group with expertise in integrated logistics services, has been awarded the Bembel prize for the 12th consecutive year. The prize is presented by Frankfurt Cargo Services (FCS), a subsidiary of WFS Worldwide Flight Services, every year to acknowledge the best performers in the air cargo industry handled by FCS, largest independent air cargo handler at Frankfurt Airport. This year due to COVID-19 restrictions the community lacked the official awards ceremony although Claus Wagner, Managing Director of FCS Frankfurt Cargo Services GmbH, presented the Hessisch Bembel, a jug used for the famous Hessian apple wine individually during a personal meeting at FCS’s office in Frankfurt, in compliance with all Covid health-related measures.

Being present at Frankfurt airport for more than 15 years, AirBridgeCargo has been strengthening its footprint and upscaling its service quality in the interest of its EU customers. In 2021, the carrier managed to transport over 110,000 tonnes of cargo to/from Frankfurt airport.

Diana Schoeneich, Senior Director European Region at AirBridgeCargo Airlines, highlighted: “This is an excellent addition to our Bembel’s collection, and we would like to thank FCS for their support and readiness to find alternative, out-of-the-box, solutions which are aimed to keep uninterrupted supply chain. Thanks to plan B, C and even D that we have mapped out together with FCS we managed to cope with the global logistics challenges of 2021 and are ready to move further in 2022”.

Claus Wagner, Managing Director of FCS, comments: “In 13 years of successful cooperation, we award AirBridgeCargo for its high tonnages for the 12th time in a row. This impressively demonstrates how AirBridgeCargo, and Frankfurt Cargo Services have significantly expanded their cargo operations at Frankfurt Airport together during this time. We would like to thank AirBridgeCargo and look forward to continuing our strong partnership”, says Claus Wagner, Managing Director of Frankfurt Cargo Services.

AirBridgeCargo operates 10 weekly rotations to/from Frankfurt airport to leverage various types of cargo for its customers with a special focus on booming verticals – e-commerce, healthcare, high-tech and others.
