Air Transat, recently named World’s Best Leisure Airline for the seventh time at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards, proudly inaugurated its exclusive non-stop service between Toronto and Berlin. The inaugural flight, TS418, departed from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and landed in Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) this morning, marking the beginning of a highly anticipated route that operates twice weekly through October.

“As the sole airline offering non-stop service from Canada to the German capital, we are excited to provide travelers with a direct and enriching way to experience one of Europe’s most vibrant cities.” said Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer of Transat. “This route not only strengthens our European presence out of Toronto but also underscores our commitment to creating meaningful connections across the Atlantic.”

Thanks to Air Transat’s joint venture with Porter Airlines, this new route provides seamless connections to and from major Canadian cities, including Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Halifax – making it easier than ever for travelers across the country to discover all that Berlin has to offer, and for German travelers to discover Canada.

“We are pleased to welcome Air Transat’s new non-stop service to Berlin — a city that has long been one of Toronto Pearson’s largest unserved European markets,” mentioned Kurush Minocher, interim Chief Commercial Officer, Toronto Pearson. “Last year, 15,000 people travelled between Toronto and Berlin, all requiring a stopover on their journey. We are excited to offer new routes that enhance passenger choice and strengthen Toronto Pearson’s global connectivity.”

“We are delighted to welcome Air Transat as a new airline partner at BER," added Aletta von Massenbach, Chief Executive Officer of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. "The new route directly connects the Berlin Brandenburg region with Toronto and offers attractive onward flight options. At the same time, the capital region offers travelers from Canada a variety of experiences – from the vibrant metropolis of Berlin with its culture, history, and creativity to Brandenburg's lakes, castles, and nature.”

The route is operated with the Airbus A321LR, an aircraft known for its efficiency. Featuring ergonomic cabins and a modern entertainment system, it ensures passengers a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience from takeoff to landing.
