In accordance with the European Union Emissions Trading System & FUEL EU Maritime Regulation, AAL is applying a combined ‘European Emissions Surcharge’ (EUES) to cargo either loaded on, or already onboard, an AAL-operated vessel sailing either to or from a European port.

The EUES is applicable to part cargoes and based on typical vessel routing, average fuel consumption, and cargo volumes - as well as the prevailing EU Emissions Allowance trading price. In line with latest published European Emissions Tariffs, it has been adjusted as of 1 January 2026:
EUES (Applicable from 1 January 2026) |
USD 15.00 per RT |

The European Union Emissions Trading System and Fuel EU Regulation are important to the future of shipping, and AAL is committed to ensuring its customers and supply chain partners are fully informed of how these regulations will impact cargo movements going forward.
