AAA Cooper Transportation launches pre-pickup visibility

Jan 04, 2021

Building on the success of their shipment visibility platform, ACTION TRAC®, AAA Cooper Transportation announced enhancements designed to allow its customers a window into one of the most obscure segments of the lifecycle of a shipment, pre pickup activities. Released December 14, the company said this next generation visibility experience will keep their customers up to date as their pickups are processed through the AAA Cooper system; messaging them with confirmation of the pickup request, when the driver is assigned, when the driver goes in route to the pickup (with ETA), and when the pickup is completed.

The new experience comes just over a year after AAA Cooper introduced ACTION TRAC® to the market and represents the company’s latest investment in in-house developed customer visibility systems.  Advertised as the next generation in continuous visibility when released in 2019, the system was quickly adopted by customers who now rely on the real-time location, status, and true ETA features as integral parts of their planning system. According to company President and COO Charlie Prickett, “providing pre-pickup visibility to their customers was a natural next step in their vision to be the most innovative carrier in the market.”

Real-time visibility has long been a supply chain priority for large organizations like Amazon and The Home Depot who rely on that visibility to support their desired customer experience.  But many, smaller, organizations have considered it out of their reach.  AAA Cooper’s platform has the flexibility and scalability to provide a customizable experience regardless of the customer’s shipment volume.  And this visibility comes at no added cost.

According to Mr. Prickett, “AAA Cooper serves a very diverse customer base, each with very specific requirements satisfied by accurate, real-time shipment information.  AAA Cooper has some of the most advanced process technologies and has invested in systems that allow us to provide our customers the transaction level visibility to satisfy those needs”.

The unique pressures of today’s operating environment demand a lot of attention and, according to AAA Cooper, pre-pickup visibility allows customers to focus on those demands with the peace of mind that comes with the real-time, proactive notifications.  The company says early feedback suggests its customers are taking advantage of the features that the system offers.

AAA Cooper VP of Quality and Customer Solutions, Lee McMillan, says that “we launched on a Monday and by that Wednesday approximately 12% of our daily pickup requests were generating status requests through ACTION TRAC® and customers were reaching out to tell us that this insight is having a meaningful impact on their operations”.
