2020 multimodal awards are now open for nominations

Feb 07, 2020

Nominations are now open for one of the logistics industry's most popular awards schemes.

“The 2020 Multimodal Awards give participants on all sides of the UK's supply chains a unique opportunity to recognise outstanding achievements in the industry as most of the categories are judged via an independent voting process. This differentiates them  somewhat from most of the other awards in the sector,” said Robert Jervis, Logistics Portfolio Director at Clarion Events.
The independent voting process covers the seven modal categories for which nominations are now open, recognising operational excellence by companies involved in air cargo, road freight, rail freight, sea freight, port operations, 3PL activities and pallet networks.
Entries are also open in three judged categories: Shipper of the Year; Young Logistics Professional of the Year; and, a new category, the Multimodal Sustainability Award. This will reward a company that can demonstrate its sustainable credentials by describing a project and its positive impact on the business, or defining a measurable strategy within a clear timeline.
This year's Multimodal Awards welcome back two long-standing supporters. Football legend, Kevin Keegan, will once again host the event, whilst the Freight Transport Association has agreed to be the headline sponsor of the awards.
Jervis adds: “Having the FTA,  which represents companies that both purchase and supply freight services, as the headline sponsor adds gravitas to the Multimodal Awards. Anyone who was present when Kevin last hosted our awards will know what fantastic entertainment he provided.”
Over 650 guests are expected to attend the winner’s VIP dinner and ceremony at the VOX Conference Centre, Resorts World at the NEC Birmingham, on June 16th 2020,  the first day of the Multimodal 2020 exhibition.
Nominations for the awards, can be made online until March 27th 2020 at multimodal.org.uk/awards
Multimodal, now in its 13th year, is a three-day free-to-attend exhibition and conference, which takes place from the 16th to the 18th of June 2020 at the NEC Birmingham.
