Colombian flower exporters ready for Saint Valentine’s Day

Feb 08, 2004
The goal of Colombia's flower exporters for the upcoming Saint Valentine's day is to sell 1mil cases of flowers, as they did in 2003. The US accounted for 82% of the sector's total sales in 2003. The total value of these sales was US$700mil, with exports accounting for US$673mil.

Valentine's Day sales account for 8% of the sector's annual sales. The recent icy weather in Colombia has caused some damage to flower crops in several regions, but these are less than experienced in 2003. (South American Business Information)
